Linking your Instagram account to your Facebook profile means that you can share posts directly from Instagram to Facebook. Keep in mind that you can only link from Instagram on the app for iOS or Android devices.

Once you connect an Instagram account to your Facebook Page, you can directly manage your Page’s activity across both Facebook and Instagram. For example, you can now schedule posts, respond to messages and comments, create ads, and see insights across both Facebook and Instagram.

You can now create Instagram ads without having a presence on Facebook. If you are promoting a post from your Instagram business account for the first time, you won’t have to connect to a Facebook ad account or Facebook Page. At this time, you can’t connect your Instagram account to a Facebook ad account.
